The
good news? Our
regional water
quality is
improving.
The bad news?
Progress in
this area
is not cheap.
Continuing
improvement will
be costly,
but at least
we can ensure
that the financial
burden is
fairly distributed. more>> |

With
the first heat
wave of
the season on
a calm and mildly windy
Sunday afternoon
on April
27, 100 acres
in Los
Penasquitos
Canyon burst into
flames in only two
hours. The brush
fire led
to the evacuation of
two hundred
and fifty
homes and took
180 firefighters,
two helicopters
and two
CalFire tanker
planes to
put out the
fire. more>>

On
April 25,
our dearly
loved friend
and loyal
supporter, Jean
Ramsay,
died at the
age of 90.
Most recently
Jean has been
living with
her daughter,
Carol in her
Orange County
home. Jean
and her husband,
Allan had
moved to Del
Mar in 1974.
Born in Nova
Scotia , Canada
, Jean moved
with her family
to Long Beach
, California
. She loved
her 15th Street
apartment
that overlooked
Seagrove Park
. Her walls
were adorned
with her husband's
magnificent
oil paintings.
She will be
deeply missed
by her daughter,
three grandchildren,
four great-grandchildren
and all of
us. |
