Add Some Spice to Your Life!
Join the New DMCC Book Club "Seasoned Readers"

The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2 pm, at the Del Mar Library.
Come prepared to suggest a book for the first read and discussion. The Seasoned Readers will meet the last Tuesday of every month to discuss the selected book.

Contact Joanne Sharp, Seasoned Reader Facilitator, to sign up at 858-755-0555, or email djsharp@roadrunner.com. Membership is limited to 12 and will be on a first come, first served basis, so sign up early if you are interested in joining. If there is great interest, it may be possible to form more than one group.

Come celebrate spring with a leisurely stroll through Mary Friestedt's gorgeous garden and discover hidden treasures throughout your journey! No need to RSVP; simply show up and enjoy!


Have the Light Bulbs Changed in Your House – Saturday, April 25 by appointment

Our local Del Mar Rotarians are offering to change out the old light bulbs in your home to the new energy-efficient type. They will be doing this on National Rotary Work Day, along with other Rotary Clubs across the nation. They will also change the batteries in your smoke detectors, if asked. To have Rotary come to your home, call or email the DMCC office for an appointment.

 

Financial and Legal Wellbeing Workshop: Limiting Financial Risks – Thursday, May 7, 1-2:30 p.m., City Hall Annex

This series offered by Parkinson’s Disease Association of San Diego provides education and information about key financial planning and legal matters. May’s workshop will address Medicare integration, health, property, disability, life and long term care insurance. Reservations required.

 

Jerry Finnell Memorial Walk - Saturday, May 16, 9-11 a.m., Torrey Pines State Beach, Fee: $15

Help us honor our City Council members, past & present, at the Jerry Finnell Lagoon to Lagoon Memorial Walk – A Celebration of Del Mar’s Great Civic Leaders. Mayor Crystal Crawford will be presenting a dedication to all past & present City Council members. The Walk starts at Torrey Pines State Beach & ends at Dog Beach for refreshments & the dedication celebration at 10:30. Please register in advance.

 

A New Service: Let DMCC help you remember to take your medications!

Although originally developed to make daily phone call checks to Del Mar residents, DMCC has modified the Telephone Reassurance Program to also be used as a daily reminder call to take your important medications. If you would like to enroll in the Telephone Reassurance Program for either purpose, please contact the DMCC office.
