Give back to the Community by Shopping at the Del Mar Farmers Market.

One of Santa's local helpers, accompanied by Barbara Anderson (DM Farmer’s Market President), gives local grower Javier Piedra of Valdivia Farms, Carlsbad, chocolates from Guianni Chocolates, Fallbrook.

Give back to the community by shopping at the Farmers Market

When shopping at the Farmers Market in Del Mar, buyers are not only purchasing the freshest local produce, flowers and prepared foods, but .06 % out of every dollar generated goes back to the community. Del Mar is the only farmers market in the county to donate 100% of net profits to charity supporting education, the library and environmental conservancy.

The Del Mar Farmers Market has donated nearly $200,000 since the inception in 1987. “There are other generous organizations in Del Mar making important contributions, but not many people know that the Farmer’s Market is completely self sustaining – we do not receive any funding from the city or community foundations,” commented Barbara Anderson, DMFM Board President. A few past beneficiaries include: educational scholarships for the children and grandchildren of farmers who work at the market; funds for the purchase, repair and furnishings of the Del Mar Library; the San Diego River Valley Conservancy; Del Mar Community Connections and the Community Resource Center.

Whether it is fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, tasty tamales or delicious chocolates you desire, make Del Mar Farmers Market part of your weekly routine.  You will support local growers and give back to the community. The Del Mar Farmers Market operates Saturdays from 1pm – 4pm, at the lower Del Mar City Hall parking lot, 1050 Camino Del Mar. Closed December 26 and possibly January 1.
