CHHAHARI Used Book Sale
To benefit 21 at risk and orphan children living in Nepal.

Sunday March 28th at Stratford Court Café 8am – 12 noon

Del Mar residents Ingrid Hoffmeister and Carol Kerridge understand the power of paper and the power of ONE! Your used books will be sold for $1.00 and that $1.00 will buy one week of education for one orphan child living in Nepal.

In February, together with Del Mar friends they organized their first used book sale raising $870.00. “People were incredibly generous, donating over and above the $1.00 book price,” says Hoffmeister. “We truly want to thank all our Del Mar friends who came out to support CHHAHARI, a home for 21 at risk and orphan children www.chhahari.org Due to their kindness all 21 children will now receive an education for one year.”

Ingrid and Carol both visited the Chhahari home located outside of Kathamandu. They met the children and Ingrid taught at their local school. The impact of this encounter lives with them and they are committed to raising money for education so these children can climb out of poverty and become self-sustaining adults.

A second Book Sale effort will take place on March 28, in the hope of raising sufficient funds to pay for school uniforms, shoes, backpacks and pencils - $800.

“Showing up is everything – For us and for them!” explain Ingrid and Carol.
